Obituary: Michael Piper, 72, of Ludington

Michael Roland Piper, born on May 27, 1951, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and compassion. He was the devoted father of Greg Piper, Eric (Grace) Piper, and Lisa (Andrew) Johnson. He shared sibling-hood with Paul Piper, Tony Piper, and Romala Bissell.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Roland Piper and Dolores Piper, and beloved friend and former wife Gail Piper.

Michael dedicated 31 years of his life to Pentwater Wire Products before gracefully retiring. A proud son of Ludington, he found solace in the simplicity of his hometown. Enjoying activities like golf, hunting, tending to his tractors, and watching Western movies.

Beyond his passions lay Michael’s true essence – his boundless kindness and unwavering generosity. He possessed a rare gift for empathy and a willingness to extend a helping hand to all who sought it, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered.

Michael also found immense joy in his role as grandfather to Sammi (Robert) Allen and Shanika Ingle. Furthermore, he was a cherished great-grandfather to Kensley, Emmett, and Lennon Ingle.

As his family and friends bid him farewell, they take comfort in knowing that though Michael may have departed this world, his spirit endures in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created.

The family wants to express its gratefulness to the beloved friends of Michael Piper who supported, helped, and cared for him; from his Saturday breakfast crew, old golf partners, and loving neighbors. Special thanks from the family to Joe Lineus and Dan Wever for their unconditional friendship and willingness to help whenever Michael needed.
