Obituary: Walter William Carroll, 63, of Scottville

Walter William Carroll, 63, of Scottville, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. Walter was born on October 15, 1960, in Wyandotte, the son of Patricia (Joseph) Knizewski and Ralph Carroll Sr.

Walter dedicated 34 years of his life to Needlefast Evergreens. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on all those he worked with.

In his leisure time, Walter found joy in working on cars and tinkering with various motors. He also enjoyed watching car shows on TV, indulging his passion for all things automotive.

Walter will be remembered for his humor, wit, and his unwavering dedication to making others smile. He was always ready to help those in need, putting others before himself. His friendly and welcoming nature made everyone feel special, no matter how long it had been since they last met him.

Walter had a nurturing and compassionate nature, especially evident in his interactions with children. Walter’s love for his grandchildren was deep and special, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Walter is survived by his wife, Patricia Carroll; son, Eric Carroll; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aaliyah, and Kamryn; stepfather, Joseph Knizewski; siblings, Charity Carroll, Shirley (Jerry) Goosen, Debra Kremer, Sheila (Doug) Castillo-Matthews, Robert (Netha) Carroll, Larry (Vicky) Carroll, Patricia (Pete) Kapala, Michael (Marsha Knizewski, Rebecca (Mike) Gibson, Sandy (Dan) Vipond, Ralph (Nancy) Kurtz, and Larry Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Ralph, siblings, Ralph, Joseph, Faith, Hope, Sharon, and April.

A memorial service will be held Friday March 22, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
