Ludington man arrested on drug charges, Branch woman arrested for resisting police

LUDINGTON —Ludington police officers arrested two suspects while attempting to make a warrant arrest at a residence in the 600 block of Danaher Street Thursday, Feb. 15, shortly before 2:30 p.m., according to a press release from LPD.

“LPD officers went to a residence to attempt an arrest on a warrant just issued by 79th District Court. Upon making contact with a female subject, a 40-year-old Ludington male was present in the residence and was taken into custody on the following charges: count 1 —controlled substance possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy, count 2 — controlled substance maintaining a drug house and habitual offender fourth-offense notice. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

“The female subject at the residence was given commands by law enforcement and was refusing to comply with their orders when asked her name and date of birth. She also refused to give officers her phone and attempted to run from officers. The 22-year-old Branch female was taken into custody on a charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.”

In an unrelated incident, a 49-year-old Ludington woman was arrested Friday, Feb. 16, shortly after 5 a.m. in the 500 block of South Emily Street on a warrant issued by the Michigan Department of Corrections Lansing Tether Unit on a charge of parole absconder. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
