Obituary: Sharon Crilley, 82, of Ludington

Sharon “Sherry” May Crilley, 82, of Ludington, formerly of Garden City, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. Sherry was born on January 26, 1941, the daughter of Warren Glen and Ursula Gertrude (Mayrand) Wiley.

Sharon graduated on June 20, 1958, from Redford High School in Detroit. On November 25, 1970, she married the love of her life, William “Ron” Ronald Crilley and they blended their families of five little girls.

Sherry was a devoted member of St. Simon Parish in Ludington. She enjoyed being crafty by crocheting and cross stitching. You could often find her getting the best deals while thrifting. However, her greatest pride was being a housewife and mother.

Sherry is survived by her wonderful husband, Ron Crilley; children, Cathy (Mike) Claus, Barbara (Bob) Ericksen, Linda (Todd) Buhler, and Terri (Mel) Louis; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris Piper) Claus, Scott (Lisa) Claus, James Claus, Kelsey (Connor) Huck, Austin (Cara Lazare) Buhler, Jennifer (Jerel Crawford) Ericksen, Robert Ericksen, Stephanie (Brandon) Stillwell, Mel (Nicole) Lewis, James (Keri) Neilson, Jason (Shelly) Crilley, Tiffany (Steve) Walters, and Brian Neilson; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Roberta Wiley; niece, Eileen (Eric) Brandt; and nephew, Glen Wiley; great niece, Emily Wiley; great nephews, Kenneth Brandt, Dylan Brandt and Alexander Brandt.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ursula Wiley; brother, James Wiley; nephew, Les Wiley; and daughter, Bridget (Tim) Neilson.

Memorial contributions in Sherry’s honor can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church, with Rev. Wayne B. Wheeler, Jr presiding. Family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. at the church.
