Legacy Plaza bathrooms vandalized

LUDINGTON — Ludington police officers responded to two different reports of the James Street Plaza bathrooms being vandalized over the weekend on Friday, Dec. 8, and Sunday, Dec. 10, according to Sgt. Michael Haveman.

The following is other police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, Dec. 8, 2023:

  • 4:45 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Johnson Road east of Reek Road, Custer Township.
  • 8:04 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Angling Road south of Beaune Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 9:50 a.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Pentwater man turned himself in to the sheriff’s office on an outstanding Department of Natural Resources warrant, City of Ludington.
  • 4:10 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 44-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), Washington Avenue and Haight Street, City of Ludington.
  • 6:05 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Poplar Road, Custer Township.
  • 7 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 11:58 p.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on a failure to appear contempt of court warrant, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, City of Ludington.

Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023:

  • 6 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Fisher Road, Victory Township.
  • 10:59 p.m., ​(MCSO), domestic violence — warrant requested, 3500 block of West Fisher Road, Victory Township. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance call, and upon arrival found a female with an injury to her face reportedly caused from an assault. A 50-year-old Ludington man had left the scene. A warrant will be requested through the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.
  • 11:35 p.m., (MCSO), a 47-year-old Manistee man was arrested on two outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrants, US 31 and Countyline Road, Grant Township.

Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023:

  • 1:32 p.m., (MCSO), breaking and entering, 4600 block of West Decker Road, Hamlin Township. The complainant reported a break-in to a residence, but it was unknown if anything was stolen.
  • 5 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 19-year-old Baldwin woman was cited for third-degree retail fraud, Walmart, US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
