Cluck Bucket moving downtown location; Sprindrift to have new owners

LUDINGTON — The owners of Cluck Bucket restaurant announced today that in March 2024 they will be moving to a new location, 102 W. Ludington Ave. behind Spindrift Cyclesports along Legacy Plaza.

Cluck Bucket is currently located in The Port, a multi-business facility, at 222 W. Ludington Ave. The restaurant, which also operates a seasonal food truck at 88 S. Pere Marquette Highway, features chicken, soft pretzels, homemade soups, mac & cheese, rice bowls, acai bowls and more.

“The Port has been a great location to test our business in the downtown market, and we are blessed to be in a position now to have outgrown that space and are ready to begin a new chapter,” said Sheri Eaton, owner of Cluck Bucket. “There is great energy and activity in the plaza area, and we look forward to contributing to that area of downtown.”

The transition also marks a new era for Spindrift Cyclesports, soon to be under the ownership of Stu and Amy Eickelberg who are purchasing the business from Kathy and Dave Maclean, who are retiring. The bike shop will undergo a remodel, consolidating the shop and showroom into the front portion of the building. Cluck Bucket will take over the former coffee bar and shop area.

Spindrift Cyclesports will be closed starting December 26 for the restaurant buildout and bike shop renovations.

“We are excited to serve the local biking community and continue the excellent service that Spindrift Cyclesports is known to offer,” Stu Eickelberg said.

The Eickelbergs plan to reopen the bike shop in January.

“We are grateful to entrust the business and the building to individuals we have confidence in to maintain the same quality of service and care for our customers for generations to come,” Dave Maclean said.
