Obituary: Pearl Hilden, 88, of Ludington

Pearl Emily Hilden, 88, of Ludington, passed away on November 19, 2023. She was born on August 18, 1935, in Ludington, to the late Robert and Sylvia (Liska) Dietz.

Pearl was a loving and sweet woman, known for her kind heart and vibrant personality. She was often described as a “crazy lady” by those who knew her best. Pearl had a zest for life and approached every day with a sense of adventure. She had a passion for gardening, camping, kayaking, and bowling. Pearl was also a skilled cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Pearl worked various jobs within the community and dedicated her time to volunteering at the senior center. She was a valued member of the Ludington community and touched the lives of many.

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Bob) Mudget, and her son, Mark Hilden. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pearl is also survived by her brothers, Clarence (Geri) Dietz and Charlie (Janey) Dietz, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Hilden, whom she married on June 25, 1955. Pearl also mourned the loss of her daughter, Linda Saya, and her son, Brian Hilden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sylvia Dietz.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington.

Pearl Emily Hilden will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
