O.J. DeJonge Middle School ranks in magazine’s top 7 percentile

LUDINGTON — U.S. News and World Report Magazine recently ranked Ludington Area School District’s O.J. DeJonge Middle School in the top 7 percentile of Michigan middle schools. This is the second time the school has received such ranking, the first in 2021.

For the 2023 rankings, O.J. DeJonge Middle School climbed in the Michigan rankings which are based primarily on student proficiency data on assessments such as the M-STEP and PSAT. The school ranked in the top 7% of all middle schools in Michigan that were rated by the magazine.

“While we are continuously seeking to improve our craft to help each and every student succeed to the best of their abilities, our school community is proud to be named to the US News and World Report Best Middle Schools list for the second time,” said O.J. DeJonge Principal Mike Hart. “Our staff is second to none at building meaningful relationships with all students and providing the best possible learning experiences for our community. This recognition demonstrates the hard work and dedication that each and every member of the O.J. DeJonge staff provides on a daily basis and we are incredibly proud of our staff and students alike. It is a great day to be an Oriole.”
