Obituary: Geri Larr, 95, of Custer

Geri Ellen (Eyestone) Larr, 95, of Custer, formally of Pentwater, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Geri was born on December 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Frederick D. and Gladys M. (Fuller) Eyestone. She attended Pentwater High School. On September 15, 1944, she married Ernie Larr and they shared over 40 years together until his passing in 1988.

Geri was employed as a waitress at Johnnys of Custer, but later went on to be a homemaker. She was an avid member of the VFW Post 5096 Ladies Auxiliary, often going there in her free time. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, watching golf (especially Tiger Woods), cooking, and reading romance novels.

Geri is survived by her three sons, Larry (Ann) Larr, Dale Larr, and Wayne Larr; daughter, Cheryl (Edson) Swinehart; 14 grandchildren, Andy (Kelly) Larr, Amanda (Jim) Wells, Missy (Bill) Harvey, Monica (Jeremy) Ohrling, Michael Terryn, Tanya (Sean) Hunter, Travis (Tawnya) Thurow, Tracy (Micky) Shimel, Alesha (Chris) Miller, Jody (Andrew) Grimes, Stacy (Joe) Wood, Brian Larr, Bradley Larr, Angie (Jeff) Swinehart, and Toni Swinehart; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Geri was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Larr; granddaughter, Rachel Larr; and five brothers and four sisters.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 11a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
