Suspect throws bottle at store clerk after being asked for ID

SCOTTVILLE — A Wesco employee reported to police that a customer threw a bottle at her after she refused to sell the male suspect alcohol because he refused to show identification Thursday, Sept. 21, shortly after 11 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The suspect left the store located on North Main Street before deputies arrived. The case remains under investigation.

Other police activity in Mason County Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023 includes:

  • 12:18 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 26-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding Ludington Police Department warrant for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 7:11 p.m., (LPD), a 45-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving while license suspended, Delia Street and Ludington​ Avenue, City of Ludington.
