Police seek warrant for woman accused of ‘under ringing’ $750 in items at Walmart

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A warrant for retail fraud is being requested for a 51-year-old Ludington woman, who allegedly “under rang” items at Walmart’s self-checkout 15 times since July 20, 2023 totaling over $750 in items,  according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office requested the warrant Sunday, Sept. 17, shortly before 5:30 p.m. after wrapping up the investigation at the Walmart on West 10.

The following is other police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, Sept. 15, 2023:

  • 11:25 a.m., (Michigan State Police), one-vehicle crash, no injury, East Fisher Road near Reek Road, Sherman Township. A 22-year-old Custer woman was cited for driving without a license.
  • 8:09 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 41-year-old Scottville woman was arrested on a five-count felony forgery warrant issued by the Ludington Police Department, 4100 block of South Darr Road, Eden Township.
  • 8:27 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Stephens Road, Custer Township.

Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023:

  • 1:25 a.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Pentwater man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County warrant for probation violation, US 31 and Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 9:33 a.m., (MSP), a 52-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a warrant, 200 block of Jackson Road, City of Ludington.
  • 7 p.m., (MSP), a 19-year-old Fountain man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, 5000 block of Cleveland Street, Village of Fountain.
  • 7:05 p.m., ​(MCSO), a 21-year-old Manistee man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by the Manistee Police Department, 5100 block of North William Street, Village of Fountain.
  • 9:16 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Gordon Road, Amber Township.

Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023:

  • 1:45 a.m., (MCSO), a 28-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, US 10 and Larson Road, Branch Township.
  • 9:51 .m., (MSP), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 near Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 1 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Dewey Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 2:21 p.m., (MSP), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, Lakeshore Drive near the Stix Bar, Hamlin Township.
  • 7:23 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Branch Township.

No police activity was reported by the Ludington Police Department or the Scottville Police Department.
