The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023:

  • 6 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, First Street east of Amber Road, Amber Township.
  • 6:16 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Decker Road east of Custer Road, Custer Township.
  • 7:23 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 off-ramp at northbound US 31, Amber Township.

Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023:

  • 9:58 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Townline Road west of Darr Road, Sherman Township.
  • ​12:05 p.m., ​(Ludington Police Department), a 65-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving while license revoked, Washington and Tinkham ​avenues, City of Ludington.
  • 8:29 p.m., (MCSO), retail fraud, Walmart, 4800 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. Deputies responded the scene, but upon arrival, the suspect had left the scene. Through the investigation, deputies learned the suspect is a 38-year-old Ludington woman, and a report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office to file appropriate charges.
  • 9:58 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
  • ​10:31 p.m., (LPD), ​a 46-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a warrant issued by the 79th District Court for possession and distribution of methamphetamine, 500 block of East Sixth Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
