Obituary: Mary Karnicki, 70, of Ludington

Mary Elizabeth (Nielsen) Karnicki, 70, of Ludington, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. 

Mary was born on September 16, 1952, the daughter to Sam and Dorothy (Brant) Nielson. In 1970, she graduated from Ludington High School. On June 6, 1974, Mary married Stanley Karnicki. Together they shared almost 50 years together.  In 2020, after 30 years of working as a computer operator and bookkeeper for the City of Ludington she was able to retire. She also worked at the National Bank for 10 years. 

Upon retirement, Mary was able to spend more time doing the things she loved. She loved tending to her garden, cooking, and raising cats. She will be missed by her husband, and many friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Stanley Karnicki.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dorothy Nielsen; and Loreen Karnicki.

There will be a visitation on Friday, March 31 at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington from 4-6 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetic Association.
