Branch Twp. drug dealer sent to prison

LUDINGTON — Austin William Buchholz, 27, of Branch Township, was sentenced in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Feb. 21, to serve two to 14 years in prison on drug dealing charges. Buchholz was arrested on July 16, 2020 by Ludington Police Department. He was arraigned on felony charges that included count 1: controlled substance – possession of analogues; count 2: controlled substance – possession of analogues; and count 3: controlled substance – delivery/manufacture  of a non-narcotic controlled substance. He also was charged with being a habitual offender, fourth offense. 

On Dec. 6, 2022, Buchholz pleaded guilty to counts one and three. The second count was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. His sentencing included 24 months to 14 years in prison on count 3 and 40 months in prison on count 1. He was given credit for 83 days served in jail. The sentences run concurrent.
