Obituary: Ralph Doeren, 84, of Ludington

Ralph Doeren, 84, of Ludington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Ralph was born on December 27, 1938. He grew up in Detroit, moved to California, then settled in Ludington. Ralph enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows. He restored and entered several vehicles, often winning awards and trophies for his efforts. Ralph’s award-winning 1964 ½ Ford Mustang was his pride and joy.

Ralph also enjoyed restoring houses. He bought and fixed up apartment buildings where he was known for his fine workmanship and attention to detail. Ralph was so particular that his friends and co-workers often teased him about his perfectionism, but they knew they could rely on him to find a way to fix any problem and do it well. He passed on many of skills to the younger generation through mentorship. 

When he wasn’t working, Ralph could be found visiting over coffee or out to lunch with his friends. He was active and social until his very last days. He enjoyed visiting the casino, not as a gambler, but just to go along for the free food and parties with his Gold-member friends. 

Ralph will be dearly missed by his many friends and loved ones. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington with visitation starting at 1 p.m.
