Scottville man arrested for threatening repo man

CUSTER TOWNSHIP — A 42-year-old Scottville man was arrested Wednesday by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office after he reportedly brandished a handgun and pointed it at a man who was working for a vehicle repossession company. The alleged assault occurred in the 400 block of South Bean Road. The victim had allegedly hooked up his vehicle to a vehicle that was being repossessed when the suspect confronted him with the handgun, according to Sheriff Kim Cole. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. The suspect remains lodged in the Mason County Jail.

  • 7:21 a.m., MCSO: Two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 south of Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 5:30 p.m., MCSO: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Sixth Street east of Progress Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
