Load limit reduced on Quarterline Road bridge

GRANT TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Road Commission is reducing the load limit on the Quarterline Road bridge over the Big Sauble River between Freeman and Nurnberg roads. A recent structural inspection of the bridge found that there is some deterioration of its wooden piers, according to Eric Nelson, county highway engineer. The bridge is posted at a limit of 42 tons for two axels, 56 tons for three axels and 73 tons for five axels.
