Brawl in Scottville leads to injured deputy.

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole said one of his deputies sustained a cut to the leg “following a 911 call of an active fight between multiple people” Friday, Nov. 11, shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Main Street.

“When two Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, several subjects still on the scene verbally assaulted them, while one person had walked to the Dollar General and started kicking the building and yelling,” said Sheriff Cole. “Deputies then went to calm that person down when yelling broke out again at the first location. Upon returning, one subject refused to disperse and was arrested. He fought with deputies, causing one deputy to receive a laceration to the leg.”

A 29-year-old Scottville man was arrested on two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police.
