Obituary: James Casteel, 81, of Ludington

James Henry Casteel, 81, of Ludington, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, October 16, 2022.  He was born January 19, 1941, in Durand, the son of Jay and Virginia (Cline) Casteel.

Jim spent most of his life in construction, building things from roads throughout Michigan, to power plants around the United States.  The travel gave him, and his wife Kristine, the opportunity to decide on Tucson, Arizona for their home.  There, Jim built a thriving trucking business that he was so proud of.  Everyone recognized those shiny J H Casteel Trucking trucks, and respected Jim for his drive and passion for his business.  In 2004 Jim sold the business, and they headed back to Michigan, making their home in Ludington.

James Henry was preceded in death by: his two sons, Carey and Craig; parents; and his three sisters.  He is survived by: his wife, Kristine (Krupinski); daughter, Jill Blanchett (Michael); stepdaughter, Angela Brink (Dale); stepson, John Husted; and grandchildren, Reid Blanchett, Deric Blanchett, Carrie Casteel, Will Jones, Tyler Savage (Lexi), John Husted, and Jacob Husted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mason County PAWS Humane Society, 3349 Johnson Road, Ludington, Michigan, 49431.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
