Car/deer crash causes injuries.

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP  — A 35-year-old Hart woman received “non-life-threatening” injuries following a car/deer crash on Pere Marquette Highway south of Kinney Road Saturday, Aug. 27, shortly before 9:30 p.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022:

  • 6:36 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Quarterline Road south of Nurnberg Road, Grant Township.
  • ​6:45 a.m.,  (Ludington Police Department), ​a 45-year-old Free Soil man was arrested in Manistee County on an outstanding 79th District Court warrant for failure to appear on a driving while license suspended (DWLS) charge. A Ludington police officer brought the man from the Manistee County Jail to the Mason County Jail.

Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022:

  • 6:53 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Stephens Road, Sherman Township.
  • 8:19 a.m., (MCSO), larceny of firearm, 900 block of West First Street, Amber Township. The complainant reported the theft of a rifle from the home. The case remains under investigation.
  • 8:22 a.m., (MCSO), breaking and entering, 400 block of South Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township. The complainant reported a break-in involving a back door that was broken. It unknown what was taken, and the case remains under investigation, said Sheriff Cole.

Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022:

  • ​6:54 p.m., (LPD), a 43-year-old Ludington woman was cited for DWLS, Ludington Avenue and Madison ​Street, City of Ludington.
  • 9:51 p.m., (LPD), an 18-year-old Ludington woman was cited for driving without a driver’s license, William and Loomis​ streets, City of Ludington.

Friday, Aug. 26, 2022:

  • 6 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Stephens Road, Sherman Township.
  • 10 a.m., (MCSO), trespassing, Whiskey Creek Condo Association, Logan Township. The complaint was forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office seeking charges of trespassing against a 43-year-old Custer man.
  • 12:35 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 26-year-old Fountain man was cited for fourth-offense DWLS and unlawful license plate, 4500 block of Sugar Grove Road, Sherman Township.
  • 4:36 p.m., (MSP), a 50-year-old Fountain man was arrested on a fugitive warrant, 2400 block of 18th Street, Sheridan Township.
  • 7:42 p.m,. (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive south of Bryant Road, City of Ludington.
  • 7:42 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive south of Bryant Road, City of Ludington. It was the second car/deer crash at same time and location.
  • 9:50 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Morton Road south of Chauvez Road, Riverton Township.
  • 10:44 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hillview Court and Bryant Road, Pere Marquette Township.

Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022:

  • 7:50 a.m,. (MCSO), damaged property — broken window, 3800 block of East Main Street, Village of Fountain. It was reported that a window broken out at the Sherman Township Hall.
  • 8:40 a.m,., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Nelson Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:54 p.m., (MSP), a 40-year-old Newaygo man was cited for DWLS, Tyndall Road near US 10, Branch Township.
  • 10:34 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Darr Road south of Major Road, Eden Township.
