Obituary: Charles Campbell, Jr., 68, of Custer.

Charles D. Campbell Jr., 68, of Custer passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, August 11, 2022. He was born March 19, 1954 in Hart to Charles and Virginia Campbell Sr. Charles graduated from Hart High School. He worked for Straits Steel &Wire for over 20 years. He then went to work for the Ludington Daily News where he delivered papers for 10 years. He also worked as a night stocker at Walmart. 

Charles loved to build things. He especially enjoyed building things his children and grandchildren would enjoy. Whether it was a play structure, Fourth of July float or Christmas display, he loved to see everyone’s enjoyment from his creations. He was also well known for his Halloween costume creations. Charles also loved playing and coaching softball. He played for Straits for several seasons and enjoyed the friendships he made over the years.

Charles will be greatly missed by many but especially his mother, Virginia Campbell; his daughters, Alisha (James) Christensen of Ludington, Ashley (Jeremy) Tyndall of Fountain, and Alaina (Bob Forbes) Campbell of Scottville; his grandchildren, Khyler, Keese, Briseis, Kenton, Lucas, Kollin, Cash, Lee, Jovi, and Mayven; his sisters, Joanne, Mary, Kay, and Margie.

Charles was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Shawn.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Charles’ name may be directed to the family to assist with final expenses.
