Obituary: John Nichols, 71, of Denver, Colo. 

John Nichols, 71, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in Denver, Colorado after a courageous battle with cancer.   John was born in Ludington, the eldest son of Thomas F. Nichols and Loretta (Rogers) Nichols.   For a short period John attended the Seminary in Grand Rapids and later returned to graduate from Mason County Central High School.

John received his bachelor’s of science degree from Central Michigan University, later worked for Aquinas College and then went on to study college student personnel administration at Western Illinois University.   Following college, John settled for the Colorado Mountains spending time working at Bear Pole Ranch at Steamboat Springs and later accepting a position as director of the William T. Driscoll Student Center at the University of Denver.   He held that position for many years and recently retired two years ago.

John is survived by his two brothers, Jim  (Mary) Nichols, Steve Nichols and sister Christy (Mark) Buck; nephews Lee (Elissa) Buck, and godson nephew Josh Nichols and  six great-nieces and great-nephews, Wyatt Buck,  Zoee, Avalon and Mason Nichols and Ryah and Khloe Nichols.

John was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Loretta Nichols and nephew Gabriel Nichols.

A celebration of John Nichols life will be held at a later date in Michigan for family and friends.
