HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 32-year-old Free Soil was arrested Sunday, July 3, by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. He was also charged with resisting/obstructing/assaulting two police officers. The arrest occurred following a traffic stop on Dewey Road near Jebavy Drive at 2:25 a.m.

– 6:09 p.m., Ludington Police Department (LPD): A 59-year-old Leroy, Mich. man was arrested in Muskegon on an outstanding failure to appear in court warrant issued by the 79th District Court of Mason County. The original charge was driving while suspended. He was lodged lodged in the Mason County Jail after LPD officers picked him up at the Muskegon County Jail. 

Saturday, July 2, 2022

  • 9:59 a.m., Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO): driving while license suspended – first offense, US 10 and Walhalla Road, Branch Township. A 30-year-old Fountain woman was cited following a traffic stop. 
  • 10:23 a.m., LPD: A 39-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation in the 200 block of East Melendy Street; original conviction unknown. The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail. 
  • 12:57 p.m., MCSO: car/deer crash, no injuries, Chauvez Road west of Brunson Road, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 5:15 p.m., LPD: A 32-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle following a traffic stop at Madison and First streets. 
  • 7:52 p.m., MCSO: damaged property, mailbox, 1300 block of North Rath Road, Pere Marquette Township. Complainant reported a vehicle struck a mailbox and left the scene. 
  • 8:23 p.m., MCSO: warrant arrest of a 26-year-old Fountain man following a traffic stop, Sugar Grove and Custer roads, Sherman Township. The man was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear in court in Mason County. 

Sunday, July 3, 2022

  • Midnight, MCSO: single vehicle crash, minor injuries, Marrison Road near Hogenson Road, Riverton Township. A 28-year-old man received minor injuries after he swerved to miss a deer. His vehicle went into a ditch. 
  • 8:30 a.m., LPD: A 55-year-old Ludingotn man was cited for urinating in public at Stearns Park. 
  • 7:27 p.m., LPD: A 59-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for domestic assault and battery. The arrest occurred in the 300 block of West Filer Street. The victim, a 59-year-old Ludington man, complained of a headache and lumps on his head. He did not seek medical attention. The woman was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

  • 7:02 a.m., MCSO: car/deer crash, no injuries, US 10 near US 31 on-ramp, Amber Township. 
  • 4:05 p.m., MCSO: two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 east of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 4:27 p.m., MCSO: two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 and Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township. A 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated – third offense (felony) and driving while license suspended. 
  • 11:05 p.m., MCSO: one vehicle crash, no injuries, Fountain Road west of US 31, Victory Township.
