West Shore Art Fair is this weekend.

LUDINGTON — The 2022 West Shore Art Fair (WSAF) will take place in Rotary Park Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3.

This year’s WSAF will feature 90 jury-selected fine artists across a variety of media, including: clay, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, wood and more. Art fair hours are Saturday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Now in its 54th year, the WSAF is an open-air, juried fine art and fine crafts show managed by the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, a nonprofit community arts organization that cultivates access to arts and culture in west Michigan. In addition to original, jury-selected art, the show features live performances, food stations, a children’s art activity area and the ever-popular WSAF Children’s Art Buying Tent.

The Children’s Art Buying Tent features original artwork and jewelry that are sold to children under the age of 16 for just $5. The goal of the tent is to provide children the opportunity to become patrons of the arts by allowing them to select and purchase original high-quality art. No adults are allowed in the tent. All artwork displayed in the art buying tent is donated by 2022 WSAF artists. All proceeds from the sale of art supports our children’s programming at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.

The WSAF food court, located along Lewis Street features over 10 vendors this year. Vendors include, Krave, the Ludington Optimist Club, Crazy Nuts, Ben’s Soft Pretzels, Norma’s Tamales & Mexican Cuisine, Cluck Bucket, the Rotary Club of Ludington, Lela’s Original Kettle Corn, Crazy Good Crepes, the Olive Branch and Paul’s Jerky.

Live music will once again fill the air during the WSAF. A mix of performers will take the stage Saturday, July 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s performers include, Ron Johnson, Edgar Struble and Ken Jury; Fremont John; the LACA Jam Band; Mike Lenich; Joe Irelan; Greg Kjolhede; Rob’s Roustabouts; LACA Ukulele Group; Third Coast Swing; Cheryl Wolfram; and Marty Ziemba.

A very limited number of 2022 WSAF commemorative posters designed by Ludington artist Chris VanWyck of Engine Creative will be available for purchase at the WSAF information booth. In addition to posters, the information booth will also be selling the 2023 LACA Artists & Musicians Au Natural Calendar for just $10 and WSAF cloth shopping bags will be given to anyone purchasing an annual membership to the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Memberships begin at just $40.

The West Shore Art Fair wouldn’t be possible without the generous contributions of Michigan businesses and organizations supporting the art fair that helps fund education, programming and operations at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Lead sponsors include: West Shore Bank, Heyse & Associates, Shelby State Bank, Bud Matthews Services and Engine Creative. Other event sponsors include: Ludington Beverage, Starbucks, Urban Vinyl, Walmart, Wesco, Bulldog Security, AllPhase Vending, Pennies from Heaven Foundation, Ludington Area School District and All Seasons Porta Jons.
