The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Thursday, May 26, 2022:

  • 5:32 a.m., Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO): Car/deer crash, no injuries, Custer Road near Mavis Road, Sherman Township.
  • 6:10 a.m., MCSO: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Chauvez Road near Stiles Road, Riverton Township. 
  • 1:29 p.m., Ludington Police Department: A 27-year-old Fountain man was arrested in the 300 block of East Ludington Avenue on three outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court, issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court. The original charges were not listed in the report. The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 2:42 p.m., MCSO: A 36-year-old Ludington woman was issued an appearance citation for driving while licence suspended following a traffic stop on US 10 near Meyers Road, Amber Township. 
  • 5:42 p.m., MCSO: A 46-year-old Stanwood man was issued an appearance citation for driving while license suspended during a traffic stop on US 10 near Larson Road, Branch Township. 
  • 10:56 a.m., MCSO: A 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a valid felony warrant for dangerous drugs issued by the Michigan State Police – Ionia Post. The arrest occurred during a traffic stop on US 10 near Nelson Road, Pere Marquette Township. The man was lodged at Mason County Jail.
