‘Unruly’ ER patient throws cup of urine on officer.

LUDINGTON — A 58-year-old Ludington man who became an “unruly” patient in the emergency room at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital threw a cup of urine on a Ludington police officer Tuesday, May 10, shortly after ​8 a.m., according to Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski of the Ludington Police Department.

“The officer was not injured, but will require follow-up tests to ensure no disease was transmitted to the officer by the man’s urine,” said Cpt. Wietrzykowski. The suspect received a small cut on his torso while resisting arrest and was treated at the ER before he was lodged in the Mason County Jail. He faces a felony charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer.

The following is LPD activity Monday, May 9, 2022:

• ​2:14 p.m., ​a 29-year-old Fountain man was arrested for second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS), Ludington Avenue and Jackson​​ Road, City of Ludington. The man had four prior DWLS convictions. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 3:50 p.m., ​a 35-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding 51st Circuit Court warrant for failing to appear on a methamphetamine possession charge, 500 block of East Danaher Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• ​6:59 p.m., ​a 36-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding 79th District Court warrant for methamphetamine possession, 100 block of North Franklin Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
