The following is police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, May 6, 2022:

  • 3:56 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive and  Robert Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 5:10 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Dennis Road south of Woodview Road, Amber Township.
  • 10:29 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of Hawley Road, Summit Township.

Saturday, May 7, 2022:

  • 12:34 a.m., (MCSO), a report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office for charges of driving while license suspended (DWLS) against a 48-year-old Ludington woman and charges of permitting a person to operate while suspended against a 51-year-old Ludington man, who was the owner of the vehicle and a passenger, State and Columbia streets, City of Scottville.
  • 10:06 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Dewey Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 10:29 a.m., (MCSO), illegal burn, 200 block of South Gordon Road, Amber Township. A subject was reportedly was burning during burn ban and was reportedly burning illegal material — a tire. It was turned over to the Scottville Fire Department.   
  • ​11:32 a.m.,  (Ludington Police Department), a 31-year-old Scottville man was arrested for possessing methamphetamine, ​Filer Street and Washington ​Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • ​12:52 p.m., (LPD), a 54-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and for having open intoxicants inside his vehicle, Robert Street and Tinkham ​Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 1 p.m., (MCSO), damaged door, 3100 block of East Free Soil Road, Free Soil Township. The complainant reported that a door to a seasonal home was damaged.
  • 9:41 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Benson Road north of US 10, Branch Township.
  • 10:19 p.m., (MCSO), a 48-year-old Hart man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant out of Oceana County following a harassment complaint, 5600 block of West US 10, Wesco Eastgate Parking lot, Pere Marquette Township. During the search of the suspect after arrest, suspected meth was located. A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office related to the suspected meth. 

Sunday, May 8, 2022:

  • 6:25 a.m., (MCSO), car/dog crash, no injury, State Street east of Madison Street, Village of Custer.
  • 11:51 a.m., (MCSO), car/turkey crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of US 10, Amber Township.
