LUDINGTON — The following criminal proceedings took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felony Arraignments

Williams

-Lea Louise Williams, 49, of 710 E. Loomis St., Ludington, was arrested Jan. 6 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance (narcotic/cocaine) and fourth offense habitual offender. Probable cause hearing: Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. Bail: $250 cash.

Lotan

-Heather Danielle Lotan, 34, of 76 Grove Pl., Apt. 4, Frankfort, was arrested Jan. 6 by Michigan State Police (MSP) on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy) and misdemeanor charges of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and operating an unregistered vehicle. Probable cause hearing: Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. Bail: $250 cash.

Misdemeanor Arraignments

-William Jay Wetherell, 51, of 105 Fifth St., Ludington; Jan. 6; LPD; disorderly drunk person, trespassing and using an emergency telephone service for unauthorized purposes. Pretrial: Jan. 31 at 1:45 p.m. Bail: $500 personal recognizance.

Sentencings

-Alfredo Gonzales Escamilla, 34, of 7761 W. Deer Rd., Mears, pleaded guilty Jan. 5 to attempted criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for one day served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no drugs/alcohol/controlled substances/marijuana; subject to random drug tests and breath tests; no contact with the victim; and $500 in fines/costs. 

-Jeremy Scott Tiemann, 46, of 11 Wesley Ct., Sidney, Illinois, pleaded guilty Jan. 12 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; and $955 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. 

Dismissals

-Brandyn Joseph Presley, 29, of 155 Wildwood Run, Apt. 1, Amber Township, had a charge of first degree criminal sexual conduct (victim under age 13) dismissed without prejudice on Jan. 5. 

-Abram Rene Hernandez, 31, of 103 S. Columbia Ave., Scottville, had charges of possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon dismissed without prejudice on Jan. 11.
