Pair arrested for trying run over woman with vehicle.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 30-year-old Custer man was arrested for felony assault and damaged property, and a 21-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for felony assault following a disturbance Monday, Jan. 3, shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of East US 10, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The incident was related to a second-offense operating while intoxicated arrest of a 31-year-old Custer man shortly after 5 p.m. Monday following a two-vehicle crash.

“A vehicle had struck the victim — a 41-year-old Custer woman — earlier in the evening resulting in the arrest of another subject,” said Sheriff Cole. “Family to the person arrested retaliated by attempting to run over the female, striking her vehicle while reportedly attempting to run her over.”

No one was injured, Cole said.
