Albion man arrested for assaulting woman, resisting police on Christmas Eve.

LUDINGTON  — A 29-year-old Albion, Michigan man was arrested by Ludington police officers for aggravated assault and battery and resisting and opposing police on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, shortly before 3 ​a.m. in the ​400 block of South Washington Avenue​ after assaulting a 34-year-old Ludington woman, according to Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski.

The victim was treated for a cut to the top of her head and bite marks on her thumb, said Cpt. Wietrzykowski. The suspect was treated for a cut to his ear was and lodged in the Mason County Jail.

The following is activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Dec. 27, 2021:

  • 7:22 a.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.
  • 10:30 a.m., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Lincoln Road south of Dewey Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 1:04 p.m., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Decker Road west of Stephens Road, Custer Township.
  • 5:20 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Countyline Road, Grant Township.
  • 5:51 p.m., gas drive-off, $44.98 in fuel stolen, Scottville Shell gas station, East State Street, City of Scottville.
  • 6:19 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road east of Stephens Road, Sherman Township.
