Mike Lenz

Obituary: Michael Lenz, 59, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Ludington.

Michael F. Lenz, 59, of Grand Rapids formerly of Ludington passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. He was born July 23, 1962 in Grand Rapids to Frank and Adele (Bombassei) Lenz.

Mike graduated from Ludington High School in 1980, and in 1984, from Ferris State University with a degree in business marketing. He never lost touch with his high school graduating class.

Mike had the ability to bring smiles and laughter to anyone he met. His committed approach to his kids, his loyalty to his family, and his persistence for implementing the right ethical standards to his family will be a legacy that they carry on. Mike loved sharing an afternoon with his kids, eating a good meal and watching a movie. He also enjoyed summer evenings watching the sunset with his kids at the Ludington beach.

Mike had a strong sense of community and faith. He was very active in both. He was a very avid runner and sportsman. He completed several half marathons and at least one full marathon. He loved skiing, making several trips to ski resorts out west in his youth, and later Vail, Colorado. He also very much enjoyed water skiing and windsurfing whenever and wherever he could find the time. He owned two Harley Davidson motorcycles which he rode almost every day in the spring and summer months. He was also Scout Leader for Holy Spirit Parish Cub Scout troop 3208, of which both his oldest sons were members.

Mike will be greatly missed by his children, Joshua (Shelby), Nicholas, Kennady, and Nathan Lenz, all of Walker; his brothers, Marc (Tracy) of Ludington and Steve of Lansing;and many good friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter, Madeline, as well as Jim and Carla (Bombassi) Dearing.
