Minor injuries in US 31 crash.

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — A 29-year-old Nunica man was transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for minor injuries he sustained in a single-car crash Tuesday, Nov. 16, shortly before 6:30 a.m. on northbound US 31 near the Pere Marquette Highway overpass, according to Mason County Undersheriff Derrek Wilson.

The man’s vehicle was northbound on US 31 when it went off the roadway to the left; crossed the center median and southbound lanes; and went into an embankment and bushes, said Undersheriff Wilson.

  • 6:01 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway near Conrad Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:59 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 near Forest Trail Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 9:14 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 near Countyline Road, Grant Township.

Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021:

  • 7:20 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Benson Road near Hansen Road, Branch Township.
  • 8:29 a.m., (MCSO), a 20-year-old Manistee woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued by Lake County’s 79th District Court for a drug possession charge, 3000 block of US 10, Amber Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5 p.m., (MCSO), two-car crash, no injuries, Johnson Road at Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
  • ​5:22 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 27-year-old Wyoming, Michigan man was arrested on two outstanding warrants, 200 block of South James Street​, City of Ludington. One warrant was for failure to appear issued by Kent County’s 59th District Court for a charge of interfering with an electronic communication device, and the other warrant is for failure to appear issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court for an assault and battery charge. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
