Man arrested for allegedly trying to enter vehicles.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 53-year-old Manistee man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies for disorderly conduct Saturday, Oct. 16, shortly before 11  p.m. on Pere Marquette Highway near Wallace Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The suspect was arrested following a 911 call reporting a male subject who was attempting to get into vehicles, said Sheriff Cole.  

“One caller reported the subject had attempted to gain entry into her vehicle while she was stopped at a stop sign. A responding deputy spotted the subject attempting to get into a vehicle at the Orchard Market parking lot.”

Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021:

  • 1:12 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Quarterline and Beyer roads, Victory Township.
  • 3:24 a.m., (MCSO), a 46-year-old Walhalla man was arrested on an outstanding Friend of the Court warrant issued in Kent County, 900 block of South Walhalla Road, Branch Township.
  • 1:55 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • ​2:11 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 61-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court, ​500 block of East Danaher Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • ​3:30 p.m., (LPD), a 52-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding retail fraud warrant issued by the 79th District Court, ​600 block of East Loomis Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 7:23 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Bryant Road, Pere Marquette Township.

Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021:

  • 7:52 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Conrad Road east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.
  • 7:58 p.m,. (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of US 31, Sherman Township.
  • 8:30 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Reek Road north of Millerton Road, Sherman Township.
