LUDINGTON — Three pedestrians were struck by a 2013 GMC Terrain Sunday, Oct. 10, shortly before 8 p.m.  at the intersection of James and Loomis streets, according to Ludington Police Chief Timothy Kozal.

The three pedestrians, all Grand Rapids residents, were transported to Spectrum Health in Ludington for treatment. One of them — a 57-year-old woman — was airlifted to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, said Chief Kozal. She is in critical condition.

The SUV was driven by a 75-year-old Emery, South Dakota woman who did not sustain any injuries. She was traveling southbound on James Street when the crash occurred.

“The case remains under investigation,” said Kozal. “It does not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.”

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Ludington Fire Department assisted at the scene.
