Fair training.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Pere Marquette Township Fire Department and Ludington Fire Department held a joint training Monday evening at the Mason County Fairgrounds. The firefighters practiced rescues from carnival equipment, such as the Ferris wheel, utilizing ladder trucks. This is the second year the two departments have practiced with T.J. Schmidt & Company, the fair’s carnival provider, in advanced of the Western Michigan Fair. The exercise was strictly a training, not an inspection. Inspections are handled by the carnival company in guidance of state regulations.
