Pere Marquette Township to celebrate opening of conservation park.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Pere Marquette Charter Township will hold a celebration of the new Pere Marquette Conservation Park on Friday, Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. at the former Dow AC Park, 1477 S. Lakeshore Dr. 

Attendees will be able to learn how to support future development of the park. Guided tours will be available. 

The conservation park consists of 316 acres of land on the south side of Pere Marquette Lake. The property was previously owned by Dow Chemical Co. The property includes 312 feet of Lake Michigan frontage next to Buttersville Park, more than one mile of frontage on Pere Marquette Lake and a half-mile of frontage on the Pere Marquette River.
