Intoxicated man arrested for trying to enter home.

‘The man insisted that he lived there, but actually lived a block away.’

LUDINGTON — A 48-year-old Ludington man, who was “highly intoxicated,” was arrested for disorderly conduct Saturday, July 31, shortly after 3 a.m. in the ​400 block of East Filer Street​, according to Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski of the Ludington Police Department.

“The highly intoxicated man was at the wrong address, knocking and ringing the person’s doorbell,” said Cpt. Wietrzykowski. “The man, upon seeing police approach, continued trying to get into the person’s home. The man insisted that he lived there, but actually lived a block away.”

He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

  • ​3:59 a.m., (LPD), ​a 41-year-old Ludington man was arrested for violating a personal protection order issued by the 17th District Court in Grand Rapids, 100 block of East Fifth Street​, City of Ludington. The man was trying to get into the victim’s apartment and sent her numerous harassing and threatening text messages. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

  • 10:22 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Fair Oaks, Branch Township.
  • 12:39 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 12:39 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:27 p.m., (Michigan State Police, Hart post), a 24-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a fugitive warrant for failure to appear, northbound US 31 near the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.
  • 6:17 p.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a traffic stop on a parole absconder warrant out of Lansing, Crystal Lake Boat Launch, Amber Township.
  • 9:55 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of LaSalle Road, Victory Township.

  • ​6:48 p.m., (MCSO), ​a 21-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants issued by the 51st Circuit Court in Ludington were for fraudulent use of credit cards and tampering with an electronic monitoring device, Loomis and Madison ​streets, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
