LUDINGTON — The following activity recently took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felonies

Merriam

-Christopher Lee Merriam, 42, no address listed, was arrested July 24 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on a felony charge of second degree home invasion. Probable cause hearing: Aug. 4 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash.

Singhaus

-Ashley Renee Singhaus, 42, homeless, was arrested July 25 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on a felony charge of assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Probable cause hearing: Aug. 4 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $500 cash.

Wakelin

-Devon Joseph Edwin Wakelin, 24, of 101 W. Melendy St., Ludington, was arrested July 25 by LPD on a felony charge of assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Probable cause hearing: Aug. 4 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $1,000 cash.

Kenschaft

-William Gustav Kenschaft, 65, of 3950 E. Decker Rd., Sherman Township, was arrested July 23 by Michigan State Police (MSP) on two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of felony firearms. Probable cause hearing: Aug. 4 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $1,000 cash.

Maldanado

-Izelia Maldanado, 26, of 111 W. Willow St., Lansing, was arrested July 28 by MCSO on a felony charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. Probable cause hearing: Aug. 11 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $500 cash.

Barton

-Christina Lynne Barton, 59, of 407 E. Third St., Ludington, was arrested July 17 by LPD on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy) and second offense habitual offender. Probable cause hearing: Aug. 4 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $250 cash.

Sentencings

-Anthony Werner Priese, 40, of 182 W. Sixth St., Apt. 18, Shelby, pleaded guilty July 22 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days served and $168 in restitution. 

-Howard Mark Larson, 35, of 5607 N. Stiles Rd., Victory Township, pleaded no contest July 25 to assault and battery and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 90 days served and $125 in fines/costs. Charges of second offense domestic violence and trespassing were dismissed.

-Armando Gregorio Guitierrez, 32, of 2880 W. Polk Rd., Hart, pleaded guilty July 28 to driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle with a forged/altered license and was sentenced to 12 days in jail with credit for 12 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have substance use evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of operating an unregistered vehicle, violation of a restricted license and no vehicle insurance were dismissed.
