MCC to host Huffman Basketball Skills Camp.

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Schools is hosting the Huffman Basketball Skills Camp on Tuesday, Aug. 3 through Wednesday, Aug. 4. The camp will be led by Trevor Huffman, the all-time leading scorer at Kent State University with 1,820 career points. Huffman led the Golden Flashes to the 2002 NCAA Tournament Elite 8. He then embarked on a 13 year professional basketball career that took him to Germany, Poland, Belgium, Venezuela, and France, plus two tryouts in the NBA. Huffman graduated from Petoskey High School. 

The camp is for boys and girls grades fourth through 12th. Cost is $49 with registration deadline of Monday, Aug. 2. Register here. The event will be held at MCC High School. 

The schedule is as follows (both days): 

  • 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., fourth and fifth graders.
  • Noon to 1:30 p.m., sixth and seventh graders.
  • 2 to 4 p.m., eighth through 12th graders. 

Check-in begins 15 minutes before each session. All players must bring their own water bottle and appropriate athletic clothing and shoes. Michigan High School Athletic Association COVID protocol safety rules will be followed.
