Woman, 32, arrested for assaulting 71-year-old woman.

LUDINGTON — A 32-year-old Ludington woman was arrested by Ludington police for domestic assault after allegedly assaulting a 71-year-old Ludington woman Thursday, July 1, shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Fifth Street, according to  Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski.

The victim was not injured. The suspect was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

The following is recent activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office:

Thursday, July 1, 2021:

  • 4 p.m., personal protection order violation, 1200 block of West US 10, Amber Township. A report is being forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office after the complainant reported receiving messages from a 26-year-old Ludington man in violation of a PPO issued in Mason County.
  • 4:47 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 8:50 p.m., alarm activation, Hamlin Township.

Friday, July 2, 2021:

  • 4:04 a.m., a 26-year-old Ludington man was arrested for breaking and entering after he reportedly walked into a person’s home, 5600 block of North Jebavy Drive, Hamlin Township.  The homeowner did not know the suspect, who left when confronted by the homeowner. He was located by deputies walking on Jebavy Drive near Barnhardt Road.
