CUSTER — The Custer Village Council honored retiring clerk Margaret “Lolly” Griswold for her 42 years of service to the village during its regular meeting Monday, June 7. Griswold began serving on the council in 1978 and recently stepped down. Taking her place is Cathy Sanders.

Griswold said she plans on still being active in the community. She is a member of the village’s sculpture committee, which is raising funds that have commissioned the creation of a sculpture commemorating Johnny’s of Custer.
