Custer village approves liquor license request from Sanders Meats.

CUSTER — During its regular monthly meeting Monday, June 7, Custer Village Council approved a resolution giving Sanders Meats permission to apply for a liquor license with the State of Michigan. Owner Dave Sanders, who is also a village councilor, said the business is considering selling packaged liquor.

“This gives us more options,” Sanders said to his fellow councilors. “This is something we might do in the future.”

Sanders Meats has been in business in Custer since 1925.
