‘Suspicious person’ call leads to arrest.

The following is activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Monday, May 25, 2021:

  • 8:16 a.m., warrant arrest, 1200 block of West Conrad Industrial Drive, Pere Marquette Township. A 42-year-old Ionia, Michigan man was arrested on two outstanding warrants — probation violation from Montcalm County and receiving and concealing stolen property from the Michigan State Police, Lakeview post — following a 911 call reporting a “suspicious person” in the area.
  • 2:35 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:41 p.m., larceny of trees, 800 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
  • 4:50 p.m., retail fraud, 3900 block of West US 10 — Meijer, Amber Township. The case remains under investigation.
  • 5:22 p.m., damaged snowmobile, 2500 block of East Michigan, Village of Free Soil. The complainant reported damage to a snowmobile he owns. The case remains under investigation.
  • 7:28 p.m., alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 9:36 p.m., warrant arrest, US 10 and Tyndall Road, Branch Township. A 28-year-old Irons man was arrested on a two-count probation violation warrant from Mason County.
