79th District Court news, posted May 23, 2021.

The following criminal activity took place recently in Mason County’s 79th District Court: 

Felonies

Wieand

-Jordan Thomas Wieand, 21, of 5367 N. Thunderbird Dr., Sheridan Township, was arrested Feb. 14 by The State’s, Sheriff’s, Chief’s Enforcement Narcotics Team (SSCENT) on a felony charge of delivery/manufacturing a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Probable cause hearing: June 2 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $20,000/10 percent.

Gerhardstein

-Ronald Dale Gerhardstein, 35, of 9130 Pine Ct., Kaleva, was arrested May 15 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on felony charges of assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct, interfering with an electronic communication device and domestic violence. Probable cause hearing: May 26 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash.

Lusk

-Jon Eric Lusk, 40, of 407 S. Harrison St., Apt. 3, Ludington, was arrested May 13 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on a felony charge of interfering with an electronic communications device and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Probable cause hearing: May 26 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash.

Wakelin

-Devon Joseph-Edwin Wakelin, 24, of 101 W. Melendy St., Ludington, was arrested May 9 by LPD on two felony counts of assault/resisting/obstructing police. Probable cause hearing: May 19 at 2:30 p.m. Bail: $10,000/10 percent.

English

-Chriselle Renard English, 59, of 1617 S. Landon Rd., Branch Township, was arrested May 17 by MCSO on a felony charge of first degree criminal sexual conduct. Probable cause hearing: May 26 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500 /10 percent.

Cruz

-Denise Cruz, 26, of 3155 S. Stiles Rd., Riverton Township, was arrested Jan. 11 by LPD on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy). Probable cause hearing: June 2 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500 personal recognizance.

Sentencings

-Karen Marie Raymond, 45, of 1703 N. Schoenherr Rd., Custer Township, pleaded guilty May 18 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete Alcohol Highway Safety Education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). 

-Doyle Paul Kenyon, 24, of 307 Fifth St., Apt. 1, Manistee, pleaded guilty May 18 to larceny by conversion and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $695 in fines/costs. May perform 60 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs. A charge of larceny less than $200 was dismissed.

-Tammy Renee Vigansky, 61, of 6589 E. Borowski Rd., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty May 18 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must attend SBIRT counseling program; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle was dismissed.

Dismissals

-Levi James Wassis, 20, of 710 E. Melendy St., Ludington, had a charge of attempted assault/resisting/obstructing a police office dismissed on May 13 as part of a plea agreement. 

-Steven Karl Krieg, 54, of PO Box 804, Ludington, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed on May 17 after pleading guilty to a civil infraction.
