John Lynn

Obituary: John Lynn, 76, of Ludington.

John Edward Lynn, 76, of Ludington passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  John was born on July 2, 1944 in Muskegon, the son of Evert William and Margaret Thelma (Postuom) Lynn.  On March 9, 1974 he married Florice May Marrison at the Scottville United Methodist Church and they have celebrated 47 years by each other’s side.

John enjoyed operating his farm in Eden Township for over 54 years where farming was his passion.  Along with farming he liked to spend time gardening, attending the horse pulls at the local Fair’s, taking road trips with his family, and could often be found reading books usually having something to do with cooking or farming.  He also enjoyed going down to the shoreline in the summer and watching the SS Badger leave port and return home.

In his later years, as his health failed, John was fortunate to be cared for by his daughter Jill in her home.  Jill also provided childcare for two boys Dylan Petersen and Ben Cossette whom John loved very much.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepfather Ed Roller.  He will be greatly missed by his wife Florice; their daughters, Jill Lynn and her fiancé Robert Vodvarka and his son Dylan, and Julie Lynn all of Ludington; his brother William (Yolanda) Lynn of Ludington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service of remembrance will be held for John at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 23 at Radiant Church in Ludington.  Friends may greet John’s family starting at 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.  Those who wish to remember John with a donation are asked to please consider giving to his family to assist with expenses.
