79th District Court news, posted April 16, 2021.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently arraigned in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felonies

Holden

-Lori Ann Holden, 42, of 7065 N. Dennis Rd., #2, Grant Township, was arrested April 9 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy). Probable cause hearing: April 20 at 9 a.m. Bail: $5,000/10 percent.

Amaya

-Nichole Lynn Amaya, 46, of 3964 E. Madison Rd., Walkerville, was arrested April 12 on three felony counts of welfare fraud over $500. Probable cause hearing: April 20 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $5,000 personal recognizance.

 

Misdemeanors

-Chalene Kay Lopez, 41, of 103 Burr St., Battle Creek; June 6, 2020; MCSO; transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle, having an unlicensed dog and driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: April 19 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $2,500 personal recognizance.

Sentencings

-James Robert Wicks, 54, of 143 N. Jebavy Dr., Apt. 5, Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty April 9 to driving while license suspended (DWLS), failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance), and unlawful use of license plates and was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). An additional charge of DWLS second offense was dismissed.

-Raymond Jeffrey Lewis, 33, of 11671 Heron Dr., Lakeview, pleaded guilty April 9 to larceny by conversion less than $200 and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served and $635 in fines/costs. Two addition counts of larceny by conversion were dismissed.

Dismissals

-Erik Matthew Doffing, 29, of 7005 Tenth St., Ludington, had a charge of assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer dismissed on April 14 per a prosecutor’s deferment.
