Scottville area summer ball leagues forming. 

SCOTTVILLE — Registration for Scottville area summer t-ball, baseball and softball has been scheduled. Registration will take place at the Mason County Central Spartan Community Field (football field) concession stand: 

• T-ball/baseball: Monday, April 5, 6-7 p.m. 
• Softball: Wednesday, April 7, 6-7 p.m.
• T-ball/baseball/softball: Saturday, April 10, 9-10:30 a.m. 

Participants may register at the round-up site or may mail a copy of the registration form to Scottville Area Recreation, Mason County Central High School, 300 W. Broadway Ave., Scottville, MI 49454. 

All registrations made after April 23, 2021 will not be guaranteed placement on a certain team and are subject to a $5 late fee. If placement is possible, late registrations will be placed in a lottery for team placement regardless of whether or not the child played the previous year or has requested a specific team.

Scottville area summer baseball and softball typically plays and/or practices in Scottville, Victory Township, Riverton Township, Custer, and Fountain. 

The following are the school grade classifications (grade child is in during 2020/2021 school year) for each sport:

• T-ball: boys and girls, grades kindergarten through second grade.
• Pony League: girls, grades 3 and 4. 
• Mites: boys, grades 3 and 4. 
• Elementary League: girls, grades 5 and 6. 
• Juniors: boys, grades 5 and 6. 
• West Shore League: boys, grades 7 and 8. 
• Junior High League: girls, grades 7 and 8. 

Registration fees are $40 for all leagues and includes hat and t-shirt to keep. Checks can be made out to Mason County Central Schools. For questions, contact recreation director Jim Bowen at 231-907-2332.
