LUDINGTON — The following activity recently took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Arraignments

Felonies

-Abram Rene Hernandez, 30, of 103 S. Columbia Ave., Scottville, was arrested March 2 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy). Probable cause hearing: March 17 at 2 p.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Misdemeanors

-Dustin Lee Clemens, 32, of 715 Seventh St., Baldwin; March 4; Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO); second offense driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: March 22 at 10 a.m. Bail: $100 cash.

Sentencings

-Joshua Everett Smith, 39, of 1038 Lancer Ln., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty March 2 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; may perform 50 hours of community service within four months to receive a $500 credit toward fines/costs; must complete Alcohol Highway Safety Education; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete outpatient treatment; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of accident to fixtures was dismissed.

-Jaxon Laine Tate, 23, of 2027 E. Tyler Rd., Hart, pleaded guilty March 2 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete Alcohol Highway Safety Education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Alberto Delapaz Villareal, 32, of 3290 S. Getty St., Lot 2, Muskegon, pleaded guilty March 2 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for six months; and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
