Homeowner burned attempting to extinguish garage fire.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A homeowner received multiple burns while attempting to extinguish a fire in an unattached garage Saturday morning. The fire occurred at 6292 W. Russel St. Sheriff’s deputies, fire department first responders and EMS personnel tended to the male victim while firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The patient was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.

Emergency units responding included Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Ludington Police Department, and Life EMS. Initial dispatch was at 11:11 a.m. Units were clear of the scene within an hour.
