Man arrested for ‘huffing’ at Dollar General.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 29-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies on charges of retail fraud, bond violation and ‘huffing’ at the Dollar General store in the 5000 block of West US 10 Wednesday, Feb. 17, shortly before 6 p.m., according to Mason County Undersheriff Derrek Wilson.

Deputies were dispatched to a medical assist, and after a subsequent investigation, the suspect was arrested, Wilson said. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Huffing is a term used to describe inhaling the chemical, difluoroethane, from a popular computer-cleaning spray known as Dust-Off.

MCSO also responded to a single-vehicle crash Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on Chauvez Road near Lister Road in Riverton Township. No injuries were reported.
